The Family & World Event Timeline

No person or family exists completely independent of others. Stories and lives intersect and run parallel with the stories of your family. To begin, you will place ten (10) family events on a timeline. Each of the events you choose should have a) a day and date, b) one or two sentences describing the event, including the names of the people involved and their relationship to you, and c) an accompanying photograph when possible. You will then research at least ten (10) local, nation or world events which occurred in the same time period(s) to include on your timeline. These may or may not be involved directly with your family, but you should also include requirements b) and c) for these events. By placing all twenty (20) dates/events on the same timeline, you will see how your family's story is one chapter in the larger human narrative.

Things to remember when creating your timeline:
1.  All of your increments (the spaces between lines) must be exactly the same.
2. All of your increments of time (the number of years between your markers) must be exactly the same.
3. Your dates should fall within the same general chronological period.
4. You must have photos of each event.
5. Each event must include who, what, where sentences and a photograph.
6. All photographs not taken by you (or an immediate family member) must be detailed in your bibliography.
